No one can offend you, Without your consent

Hello, my friends in Oneness,

We've heard the phrase, 'I have the need for speed', well today I'm feeling fatigued after yesterday's clinical trial treatment, and "I have the fight to write!". OK, maybe it's not as cool as the speed reference, but writing always helps me wake up and shake the cobwebs, so here goes.

As I looked through older images that I made to share on social media, I came across this specific message that always hits home with me. It does so because it personally takes me back to a time when I didn't even know what Oneness was! Yes, I can hear your giggling, but there was such a time. Back when I was a kid any developmental growth that I was to learn and experience came from either what my parents taught me, or what I would come to experience on my own. Yep, that was the same for all of us whether we acknowledged it or not, we learned and developed from what we were taught at home, at school, and on the streets of our youth. One of the first mantras I can recall is one that I'm sure you recall as well. And it went like this:

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me"

Our parents taught us this when we would come home crying and upset because someone had called us a name. Mom and Dad wanted us to know that names and words alone cannot harm us. They tried to teach us the simplicity and truth behind this quote in the best way they could. Now, although I remember hearing that often, I must state in full disclosure that in my situations I often reverted to a very immature response which usually baffled the wanna-be-bully and it went something like this:

BULLY:  Danny, you're a jerk

DANNY:  I know you are, but what am I?

BULLY:  You're an idiot

DANNY:  I know you are, but what am I?

Hey, it worked every time! Just typing that brought a childish grin to my face once again. And be honest, you may have used that comeback yourself!

So, how can this help me in today's World of Oneness?

By allowing its simplicity to carry us through our lives when we all face opportunities to use it! Our days and nights are filled with times when we are offended either minutely or profoundly. Whether it's a topic we're witnessing on the news (again, folks, just stay away from the news. I'm now four years clean and sober from it and I couldn't be happier), or what we may have heard or overheard from someone in passing. The message remains the same. NOTHING can offend us without us giving it complete permission to do so. So, if we ALLOW whatever it may be to infiltrate our days, our nights, our lives, our ENERGY, guess what folks... That's on us! Once again, because of Oneness, we know that our greatest blessing is the ability to make choices. We can CHOOSE to now allow offense of any kind or nature to enter our beings.

DANNY:  So, did you get the message?

YOU:  What message?

DANNY:  The message about not being offended

YOU:  I know you are, but what am I?

DANNY:  OK, you got me!

Danny
